The Fast Forward is the AGLCC's new monthly email newsletter. The newsletter will be published once a month featuring stories on past events, information on what's coming up next, and ways you can better yourself, your business, and the community through working with the Chamber!
The newest issue of Forward Austin is on the newsstands, and not without spirited debate! Many members of the AGLCC have expressed their opinions over the content of the first issue and the cover art of the 2nd issue (and original creation by Evan Cagle). A good publication encourages lively conversation, as controversy often creates readership! And ultimately, the more people that read Forward, the more people will see who the gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses are in Austin.
We welcome all comments and encourage all of our members to participate in the development of the next issue of Forward. If you're interested in helping shape the future of Forward by participating on our new Editorial Board, email us at editor@forwardaustin.com
See something in the last issue that made you think? Comments on the Chamber? We're always looking for letters to the editor from both members and non-members; email your comments to editor@forwardaustin.com
Come and celebrate 10 exciting years with the AGLCC! Festivities kick-off with Mayor Will Wynn on the second floor balcony of City Hall at 6:30pm on Tuesday, June 19th. AGLCC Pride Parade a resounding success!
The 2007 AGLCC Pride Parade was our best yet! With 80 entries and tens of thousands of spectators, our 6th annual parade is officially one of the greatest LGBT events of the year. Thanks to all of our parade sponsors, volunteers, parade committee members, and especially Pride Parade Chair Troy Hanna for putting together such a fantastic event.
The AGLCC was also in attendance for Equality Texas' Pride Festival. Between the two events, we handed out almost 500 copies of Forward Austin and signed up nearly 350 new subscribers!
If you're interested in being a part of next year's parade, email parade@aglcc.org to participate in the parade committee.
Welcome J. Erik Weidig to the AGLCC Board
Erik is the newest member of the AGLCC board, taking over the Vice President position. Erik works for Washington Mutual and is a welcome addition to our growing board of directors.
